From Calabria To Mill Valley
Welcome to Piazza D'Angelo, proudly bringing southern Italian cuisine to the heart of Mill Valley.
In 1980, brothers Domenico and Paolo Petrone moved to Marin County, California from the Calabria region in southern Italy, with dreams of opening their own trattoria. That dream came true a year later when they opened Piazza D’Angelo in the heart of Mill Valley, offering traditional Italian fare and warm, familial service.
Since then, though the look of the trattoria evolved as the decades changed, it has remained a familiar home away from home for many Mill Valley residents. Today, the family tradition continues as Paolo's son, Luigi, with help from other family members, carries on serving the Mill Valley community.
Like in its opening year, the menu remains an evolving celebration of Southern Italy, with an emphasis on the highest quality of fresh local ingredients. An upscale trattoria for crafted Italian dishes, sometimes overlooked southern Italian wines, and Italian-inspired craft cocktails, the offerings reflect the family’s Calabrian roots and down-to-earth personality.
